Assignment Title: Case Study: Renal Transplant
What I learned: This assignment taught me how to evaluate a client using an evidenced-based approach to medical nutrition therapy according to Renal transplant by researching the pathophysiology of the disease, interpreting laboratory values, calculating anthropometric data, make a nutrition diagnosis using diagnostic terminology, etiology and signs and symptoms format, and making an intervention goals and an evaluation plan.
Reflection to assignment: Evaluating a patient and making a nutrition diagnosis and intervention based on the disease etiology was challenging and rewarding. Designing a nutrition intervention for a patient is a dynamic process and needs to be customized for each individual. This assignment made me appreciate how to apply the content of the didactic program courses in order to help my patients with her nutrition diagnosis.
Relevance to profession: Medical Nutrition Therapy can help a patient reduce the severity or risk of developing health problems. This assignment was excellent clinical practice that I plan on enhancing during a dietetic internship and eventually as a Registered Dietitian.
